SPAIN, Seville, gold cob 8 escudos, Charles II, 1680/74 S, unique (unlisted), NGC AU 50, finest and only example in NGC census. Cal-unl (Type 181); KM-unl (168.2 for type); Fr-217. 26.75 grams. Very odd (large) shape with arcuate edge and hairline split, most of shield and cross (bold) with red toning in crevices, bold S•S to left, but most important feature is the full and clear date with blatant overdate that is unlisted and currently unique (1680/78 known as well).
